Paleonet: Palaeontological Association: Vaqcancy for Editor in Chief

Hi Norm,

Actually I suspect that the PalAss does things rather differently!

The committee has just made a decision as to whom they are going to
interview, and the people concerned have been told of the interview date.
It seems quite likely that references will be taken up on the interviewees
at some time, and if you receive a request from anyone it will be from
Howard or from Dave Harper. As you know (or may not) I am expressly
forbidden by a somewhat bizarre Council ruling a few years ago for
volunteering to take on additional tasks.

(My personal opinion is that so much is known to so many people about the
strengths and weaknesses of all 5 applicants, that formal references will
mean very little).

best wishes,

Tim
